Prosecutor's arrest in child sex sting leaves Fla. town worried

Authorities investigating the case of a federal prosecutor accused of traveling to Michigan in an attempt to molest a 5-year-old girl say there is no evidence that he did anything like that in his Florida hometown.

Fifty-3-year-old John Atchison was arrested last weekend in Detroit in an Internet sex sting.

Officials say he later tried to hang himself in jail.

Authorities say the resident of Gulf Breeze, Florida, had been communicating with an undercover sheriff's detective from Macomb County (Michigan).

They say the detective posed online as a woman who arranged for the assistant U.S. attorney to have sex with the ficticious child.

They say Atchison was arrested carrying presents for the girl and sexual materials.
